The NVIDIA Support website has just released a Q&A answering users’ most asked questions about Genshin Impact now being supported on GeForce NOW.
The NVIDIA-powered gaming service is their answer to cloud gaming. Launched for the public in 2020, the game streaming service allows players to play their PC games seamlessly on a multitude of devices, connecting all digital pc game stores so that gamers can play all their games from all of their digital libraries in one place.
GeForce NOW also saves all of your best (and funniest) in-game moments automatically with NVIDIA highlights to share with the world. The service is free to use but membership programmes are available for faster access to the cloud gaming service as well as extended gameplay sessions.
The list of games that are supported by the gaming service is now in the 1000s.
Genshin Impact is famously known for the wide list of platforms that it is playable on as well as the fact that players can easily switch between platforms by using the same login details, and is entirely cross-compatible, and allows for cross-play. Genshin Impact is available on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, iOS, and Android, and is now also available through GeForce NOW. Unfortunately, the game is still not available on any Xbox console or the Nintendo Switch.
Through GeForce NOW, Genshin Impact can now be played on Windows PC, macOS, Chromebook, iOS/iPadOS Safari, and Android mobile devices. As with all the other platforms on which the game is available, players would need to create a miHoYo account to play.
GeForce NOW offers the same experience as they would have if they were simply playing the game on PC, but players don’t have to download the full game because of the nature of the streaming service. Because the game is saved to the cloud, progress in the game is also saved to the cloud, across all platforms that a player may be using to play the game.
Although the experience is the same as on PC, mobile devices have touch controls automatically applied while streaming the game, so it’s the same experience, just played with just the mobile device and one’s fingers. There is the option of using the on-screen keyboard while playing on a mobile device that is accessible through the arrow icon in the upper left corner. Also, the keyboard and mouse, as well as gamepads and controllers are still supported by the game and by GeForce NOW.
The benefit of playing the game through this game streaming service extends beyond the obvious convenience factor, as they will also automatically quit a player’s gaming session if they notice that they are dealing with poor network performance or that the player has been standing idle for more than eight minutes.
Gaming is just getting easier and easier and it’s awesome to see a game that is already played on so many platforms added to GeForce NOW for those who are using the streaming platform, although it feels a little redundant as the game is already available on so many platforms.
Tell us, are you excited to play Genshin Impact on GeForce NOW?
