The current pandemic has forced many events, especially gaming ones, to go digital. Following in these footsteps, Gamescom 2020 went digital this weekend and showcased some of the upcoming current and next-gen games heading our way.
We take a look at some of the highlights from the gaming event.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
During Gamescom 2020, the latest Ratchet & Clank title showed off why the Lombax and his robotic friend’s next outing is billed by many as a true next-gen title.
Medal of Honor Above and Beyond
It was a surprise seeing the long-absent Medal of Honor franchise making a return at Gamescom 2020, albeit this time as a VR game. However, the news might disappoint some fans of the series who was hoping for another FPS game to rival the Call fo Duty franchise.
LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga
The LEGO Star Wars franchise is back, with the developer promising that it will be bigger and better than previous games. Unfortunately, the game was delayed to 2021. But we are certain it will be worth the wait.
Star Wars: Squadrons
Speaking of Star Wars games, EA showed off a mission introduction from their upcoming <em>Star Wars: Squadrons. As expected, after the Gamescom 2020 trailer, we’re even more excited to climb into the cockpit of an X-Wing again.
DOOM Eternal – The Ancient Gods Part 1 DLC
If you felt like you wanted some more DOOM then Bethesda and id Software has you covered. Releasing in October 2020, Doom Eternal‘s The Ancient Gods Part 1 DLC will give you more gore, blood and demon-slaying.
Dragon Age 4
Although BioWare didn’t show off any gameplay for Dragon Age 4 at Gamescom 2020, they did show off some concept art and explained their vision for the game. It sounds like BioWare could be on the right track. Only time will tell.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands
The next expansion for the World of Warcraft MMO, Shadowlands, takes place in the land of the dead, which is controlled by several factions vying for control. The expansion is set to release on the 27th of October 2020.
The Sims 4 – Journey To Batuu
Star Wars is heading to The Sims 4. With the new DLC pack, your Sims can visit the Cantina, wield a lightsaber and be a Jedi (or Sith). The Pack is out on the 8th of September 2020.
Fall Guys Season 2
Yes, Fall Guys is getting a Season 2 – which will include even more multiplayer mayhem, costumes, events and loads of falling.
Unknown 9: Awakening
Thanks to Unknown 9: Awakening‘s great looking trailer, many fans are excited to find out more about this game. Described as a narrative action-adventure game, Unknown 9: Awakening follows a girl called Haruna with mysterious powers.
Borderlands 3: Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Flustercluck DLC
As the title insinuates, the latest Borderlands 3 DLC is zany crazy and sees you entering the head of one of the game’s titular Psychos.
Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon DLC
Something strange is happening on Gorgon and it is up to you and your rag-tag team to find out what exactly happened to its inhabitants.
Little Nightmares 2
The sequel to the creepy, but much-loved horror platformer, Little Nightmares 2, looks to be just as spooky and nightmare fuel-filled as it’s predecessor.
