20th Century Fox chairman and CEO Stacey Snider revealed that the studio is open to the idea of rebooting Wolverine with a new actor down the line.
There has been much talk about castings after fans bid a tearful farewell to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in Logan earlier this year. While some fans are open to the idea, others think the adamantium clawed character should be left dead indefinitely. Jackman, who portrayed the character in nine films over the course of 17 years, has made quite an impression on fans who believe he is simply irreplaceable. Hollywood, however, might have other ideas.
During an interview with Variety, Fox chairman Stacey Snider confirmed that they might be open to the idea of another actor playing the iconic role. In response the question, she simply answered that “anything’s possible”. While that isn’t confirmation that they would, it certainly leaves the door open to the possibility.
James Howlett, aka Wolverine, is easily the most popular X-Men character and his solo films have brought in millions at the box office. It wouldn’t be unreasonable to consider a replacement to fill the void in the franchise. X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn recently revealed that he wanted to make a prequel starring Tom Hardy as the younger clawed Wolverine. Perhaps that is an option?

They are just rebooting everything all over again and again so that the characters’ licences won’t return to MARVEL/DISNEY.
He’s not the only X-man. Gawd I’m so tired of reboots. Is there not an original thought left in blockbuster Hollywood?
Oh please no! Screw Logan. Fox should give the X-Men back to Marvel so they can do a proper movie.
I say….YES!
Give it up, Fox…
ENOUGH REBOOTS!
Too soon. Would be much happier if they went with the X23 storyline for now.
I heard that Marvel wants all mutant kind back within the MCU
Only because Inhumans failed so badly to replace them.
I think Disney did not own Marvel when they sold Fox the rights. So now Disney has the $$ to make the movies right
Yes, they can never replace Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine! The character should be retired. Daphne Keen should make more X -23 movies.
