Between 11 and 23 September, Vodacom World is hosting a competition for players to prove themselves in Fortnite, Dota Underworld or F1 2019 to WIN themselves 1 of 30 NAG LAN tickets to Vodacom rAge. This past weekend, Fortress of Solitude popped in to scope the scene.
If you’ve never visited Vodacom World, now is as good an excuse as ever. Enter the primary hall of stylish modern buildings and walk a straight pathway surrounded by the latest tech, gaming paraphernalia and even a trendy cafe. The walkway all leads up to a circular space lined with fully-kitted PS4 driving simulators on the outside and the latest smartphones on podiums orbiting around the centre. The organisers were friendly and took the time to explain how visitors can compete in each game for a shot at some free tickets!
The smartphones hosted Fortnite and Dota Underworld whilst the driving simulators were running F1 2019. In Fortnite, players were asked to place as high as possible and achieve as many solo-kills as they could to enter the leaderboard. Getting into the driver’s seat of F1, we were asked to complete a time trial on the Singapore track. As for Dota Underworld, I
gave that a miss as it looked like a steep learning curve!
If you’re keen for some weekend-long rAge LAN passes and you believe you’ve got what it takes to place top-10 in any of the games mentioned above, take a trip to Vodacom World and prove it. The best part? There doesn’t appear to be a time limit so if you fail at first, try, try and try again!
