What happens when we die? Flatliners, the upcoming reboot/sequel to the 1990 thriller, toys with the answers.
Hollywood continues to visit life after death. More recently we had the The Lazarus Effect and Netflix’s O.A. take on the subject. Now Ellen Page and her small crew attempt to breathe life back into the Joel Schumacher classic.
Five medical students, hoping to gain insight into the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment. By stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience. As the investigation becomes more and more perilous, they are forced to confront the sins of their pasts, as well as contend with the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side.
The film also stars Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Nina Dobrev (The CW’s The Vampire Diaries), James Norton (ITV’s Grantchester), and Kiersey Clemons (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising).
Flatliners is scheduled for September release date.

Flatliners needs to stay a movie – much like Jacobs ladder.
