Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for Captain Marvel.
The movie stars Brie Larson as superhero Carol Danvers and is set in the 1990s. The story picks up after Captain Marvel has already acquired alien powers and is working with alien race, the Kree as they face a threat from the shape-shifting Skrulls.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige recently explained why they decided to introduce Captain Marvel to the MCU. “She is more powerful than any character we’ve introduced thus far,” he said. “So that alone tells you that there’s a reason Nick hit that button at the end, when he realised that they were up against something far bigger than they had ever been up against before.”
The film also stars Marvel Cinematic Universe favourites such as Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy stars Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing the film, which also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte and McKenna Grace.
There’s been a lot of anticipation for this movie after the end of Avengers: Infinity War. During that film’s end credits scene, we saw Nick Fury send out a message via a pager before he turned to dust. Before the scene ends, we get a glimpse of the screen, featuring Captain Marvel’s trademark logo.
Her origin story is going to play a big part in what’s to come in the next Avengers film.
As shown in the trailer, the movie will see Danvers’ return to Earth sometime after leaving to be an interstellar superhero. Although it seems that most of her memories of her time on Earth are missing.
