Ubisoft has released a teaser trailer for their next Far Cry game and it seems the franchise might be going post-apocalyptic.
The Far Cry teaser trailer starts off in what seems to be Hope County from Far Cry 5. All is peaceful until a nuclear bomb goes off. As expected, everything seems to go to hell after the explosion, even a buzzsaw blade gets propelled through the air. Cut a few seconds later and the unassuming buzz saw blade is repurposed as ammo for some cobbled together crossbow. It’s all very post-apocalyptic in tone.
While this is a new direction for the franchise, there is one question that comes to mind when viewing the trailer and that is how the game will set itself apart from other post-apocalyptic games, more especially Rage 2.
Judging by the short teaser, the next Far Cry has the same brightly colourful post-apocalyptic art direction that we have seen from Bethesda’s upcoming game. To be honest, we can’t wait to see more of the new game as we loved Far Cry 5. Ubisoft will be revealing more about the next instalment at The Game Awards tomorrow.
