Ubisoft has released some more Far Cry 5 details along with a new trailer that reveals more about the game’s narrative.
Far Cry 5 takes place in the fictional town of Hope County as players take on the role of a junior deputy who sets out to take down a religious cult called Eden’s Gate. Along the way, you will be aided by Pastor Jerome, an African-American priest, Mary May, a bartender, and Nick Rye, a pilot who are some of the few people willing to stand up against the rapidly growing cult.
As with the previous Far Cry games, players will be able to shoot, drive, bomb and fly their way through missions while meeting some strange and weird folks. The game will be playable on both the PlayStation 4 Pro and the soon to be revealed Project Scorpio. For the first time in the franchise’s history, players will be able to customise their character to their liking. Although players will have access to the usual selection of vehicles and guns to aid them, judging from the trailer, it would also seem that players will have the ability to recruit animals such as bears and cougars.
While the story of a religious cult taking over a small town might seem somewhat controversial, it is sure to create some heart pounding moments and ensure an engaging and hopefully thought to provoke narrative.
