Epson Launches New Range of Home-Cinema Projectors

At an event at Platinum Sky, Sinosteel Plaza in Sandton, Johannesburg, Epson hosted a small team of media for the South African launch of their new Full HD and 4K projectors.

As the number one projector brand for the past 15 years, each of the projectors launched features Epson’s 3LCD technology, designed and built in-house. The projectors launched on the evening included the EH-TW6700, EH-TW7300, and the EH-TW9300, with the EB-U04 (which retails for R14,999) also on show.

Apart from going into the specifications, features and visuals of each of the projectors, Epson also setup an impressive hands-on experience, which showcased different aspects of the projectors, and a direct comparison between a Full HD 1080p unit versus that of the 4K projector. The experiences included band-hero (in which we could play the drums, guitar, or some vocals), Call of Duty, and a competition zone in which we competed to set the fastest lap time racing for the Mercedes AMG Petronas (Epson being one of the main sponsors of the team). I managed to set the second fastest lap on the evening, picking up the runner-up prize. Thanks so much to Epson and Tribeca for arranging the launch event and prizes.
