Disney has announced that their popular Tsum Tsum line of collectible toys would be heading to South Africa exclusively through Toys R Us.
The Tsum Tsum collectible and plush lines are based on characters from some of Disney’s most loved franchises such as Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel and include Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Eeyore, Winnie the Pooh and many more.
The Disney Tsum Tsum line originated in Japan, Tsum Tsum, which translates to ‘Stack Stack’ is a concept that stems from the Japanese Zen art of stone stacking. The first range of collectible, stackable plush was released in Japan in 2013 and was an overnight success. Now South African will also have the chance to start collecting and stacking these toys.
In addition to the launch of the collectible and plush lines, Disney Channel will also be releasing Disney Tsum Tsum animated shorts (airing on every Saturday at 7:15 AM), that see the Tsums participating in various fun activities. These shorts form part of Disney’s 10th birthday celebrations, that will see the channel being made open to DStv Extra and Compact customers from the 5th of September to the 9th of October.
Disney will also be launching a new game app called ‘LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum’, which is available on mobile devices globally and lets players connect and pop as many Tsum Tsum characters as they can in one minute.
