Hideo Kojima has just released another enigmatic trailer for his highly anticipated next game, Death Stranding.
The Death Stranding trailer gives us a surprisingly extended look at gameplay which includes some sneaking, combat and even vehicles.
We have to admit that, after watching the trailer, we pretty much still have no idea what it is about. Kojima described Death Stranding as a new type of action game that sees the player reconnecting cities and a fragmented society.
“Death Stranding is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.”
Kojima also announced a $200 collector’s edition, featuring a few downloadable goodies and one of those freaky babies in a jar or, as the game refers to them, a BB pod.
Finally, the trailer also answers one lingering question: When will it be released? Well, the good news is the game will be releasing on the 8th of November 2019, exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
Let’s hope that the final game will make a lot more sense than the trailers have so far. Whether or not you understand what the game is about, there is no denying that there is a lot of excitement surrounding Death Stranding. Hopefully, Kojima’s masterpiece will live up to all the hype.
