When Hideo Kojima announced his new project, Death Stranding, many (well, most of us) were left confused as to what exactly his new game will entail. Now, it seems that even Guillermo del Toro, whose likeness appears in the game, has no idea what the game is about.
While many have their own theories about what exactly Kojima’s new game Death Stranding is, there are still so many unanswered questions. During a Reddit AMA, Guillermo del Toro revealed that, even though his body and face was scanned for use in Kojima’s new game, he still has no clue to what exactly the game will be about. It seems that Kojima isn’t planning on giving anything about his new project away. Del Toro commented on how he still has no clue about the game yet and is dying to find out more.
“Kojima scanned my body and face for the model over an entire day in Toronto,” he explains. “He needed it for the digital avatar (and for blackmail, perhaps) and he then sent me the teaser you all saw. That’s it. He sends me toys and gifts every few weeks but no clues. I am dying to know.”
Although Kojima discussed his concept for the game before, even his explanation of what he wants to achieve with the game is difficult to unpack. All we know for certain is that the game features the likenesses of Guillermo del Toro, Mads Mikkelson, and Norman Reedus.
It’s been revealed that Kojima, Reedus and del Toro will be attending The Game Awards this Thursday. Hopefully, this is an indication that Kojima will reveal more about the game during the event. Personally, we are hoping for a new trailer or basically anything that reveals more about Death Stranding.
