Darth Blender has done an awesome job of mashing Deadpool and Ferris Bueller’s Day off in a new video called… wait for it… Deadpool’s Day Off.
At the end of Deadpool, Wade Wilson, aka the Merc with a Mouth, came strolling out in a bathroom straight out of Matthew Broderick’s (Ferris Bueller’s) wardrobe closet. It was incredibly funny. Youtuber Darth Blender’s was smart enough to see the opportunity for a mash-up.
Screenwriters Rhett Reese explained the inspiration for the Deadpool/Ferris Bueller idea.
“Ferris Bueller is obviously famous for many things, one of them is breaking the fourth wall, so it just kind of clicked in my head, like, ‘What if Deadpool is in the robe, and he’s walking down the hallway.’ We wrote it, and everyone was like, ‘My God, this is it.’ Because we had all these grand plans for codas and cameos and so on and so forth, and we were like, this is it.”
