Deadpool’s marketing has always been a cut above the rest. Now that 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool has set its sights on an Academy Award nomination, the team put together a hilarious Deadpool “For Your Consideration” Oscar Campaign ad.
Ryan Reynolds narrates a new Deadpool ad and lists some of the film’s highlights; “4 pairs of assless chaps,” “12 humiliating minutes on a casting couch,” “7 magical unicorns,” “3 good walls and a 4th that’s broken.” Reynolds tweeted out the For Your Consideration video.

Not only was the R-rated superhero movie a big hit for the studio – $750 million from a $50 million budget – but it’s also turning out to be a hit amongst critics. Reynolds has been surprisingly raking in nominations (including being nominated for best picture, comedy or musical at the Golden Globes). Additionally, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are nominated for a Writer’s Guild Award, director Tim Miller is nominated for a Director’s Guild Award, and the Producer Guild Awards announced that Simon Kinberg, Ryan Reynolds, Lauren Shuler Donner are nominated for their Darryl F. Zanuck Award. Could Deadpool be up for an Academy Award? We’ll have to wait and see.
