DC Animation Announce Batman, Suicide Squad And Death Of Superman Films

DC Animation premiered Batman and Harley Quinn at Comic-Con and also took the time to announce their upcoming film titles, which include Death of Superman, Batman: Gotham by Gaslight and Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay.

While we’ve had many successful Batman-related animated feature films over the last few years, there haven’t been many great Superman films. Thankfully, that might change with the announcement of two Superman animated films, Death of Superman and Reign of Superman. Although this is the second time that DC is tackling the story, separating the story into two two-hour films will allow the creators to do justice to the source material.

The second exciting announcement was already accidentally leaked earlier this week when Amazon released the back cover of Batman and Harley Quinn. Batman: Gotham by Gaslight will be the first Elseworlds story to receive a feature film. The film will expand the original 48-page story and flesh out the story where Batman hunts down Jack the Ripper.

If that weren’t enough, fans can also look forward to Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay after those two releases. Described as an original story, the film already has a stellar voice-cast attached and will be similar to 2014’s Batman: Assault on Arkham.

DC fans have a lot to look forward to in 2018, in both the animation and live-action worlds.

I’m so glad they’re going to do it justice (see what I did there?). :)
