Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a hit with players. Insomniac Games did an exceptional job making the sequel as good, if not better, than the previous game. The design of New York’s surroundings is immersive and great swing and glide through. There are great new characters and an exciting storyline. Players, however, noticed a peculiar omission in a game scene.

Bryan Intihar, the director of Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man 2, was interviewed on IGN’s Beyond podcast and was questioned about an Easter egg that was present in the previous Spider-Man games but not in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
In the previous game, players wandering In Hell’s Kitchen could find a building that featured a business plague with the words Nelson and Murdoch’s. The plague alluded to Matt Murdoch and Foggy Nelson from the Marvel comic book Daredevil, who ran their law firm from the building. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the building and business sign are still there without any text mentioning Nelson and Murdoch. The sign is empty and has left fans asking critical questions.

Where is Nelson and Murdoch?
IGN asked Bryan Intihar about the missing Easter egg. The director was coy and cautious in his reply, stating, “That’s a good question.” Intihar then said, “Stay tuned. Good find, though.” The director’s teasing reply sent online chatter wild with speculation about Spider-Man and a Daredevil crossover.
Insomniac has already created excitement by teasing a Venom spin-off game. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 senior narrative director Jon Paquette spoke to Insider and was asked if there would be a spin-off with Venon, to which he replied:
“So, here’s what we’re doing. We’re focused on ‘Spider-man 2,’ and what we’re going to do is we’re going to wait to see how the fans react,” he said. “We’re gonna listen to the fans, and we’re gonna ask ourselves, ‘Okay, what do the fans really want?”
Furthermore, Intihar appeared on the Friends Per Second Podcast and compared the Spider-Man games to the MCU and its interlocking characters and shared universe. The speculation is that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and a follow-up Spider-Man 3 are part of a larger story. These and other developments create the impression that Insomniac Games is expanding its roster of Marvel characters, and one of them could be Daredevil.
Bryan Intihar’s cryptic reply neither confirmed nor denied an appearance by Daredevil. Still, the clues suggest that the character will either appear in the game or in Spider-Man 3 or even that there is a future Daredevil game in the works.

Another hint at a Daredevil crossover is Peter collecting a Nelson and Murdoch business card from a blind man.
Having a DLC game with Daredevil would take Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to another level. It also helps Insomniac gauge fan excitement and their reception of Daredevil to then use as a template for a standalone Daredevil or for future Spider-man and Daredevil crossovers like in Marvel’s Spider-Man 3.
The introduction of Daredevil could also be the bridge that connects Spider-man to the Wolverine game currently being developed at Insomniac. The success of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 could set the stage for a greater shared universe. Intihar has confirmed that the Wolverine game will be in the same universe as Spider-Man.
During an appearance on the Kinda Funny Games podcast, Intihar confirmed that Wolverine and Spider-Man share the same universe; he said,” They’re all 1048.” The number refers to Earth 1048 and is Insomniac Games’ designated universe for their Marvel characters.
Fans have been eager to have a Daredevil game for ages. Hopefully, Intihar’s tease is based on something substantial that leads to Daredevil’s appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or his own game in the future.

TL;DR
- Fans of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 noticed that a business plaque advertising Matt Murdoch and Foggie Nelson’s law firm had a peculiar omission.
- The plague had their names in the previous Spider-Man games, but in the latest game, their names have been erased from the plague.
- Spider-Man 2 creative director Bryan Intihar was asked about erasing their names. The director was elusive but hints that the omission was deliberate and not an oversight and teases a Daredevil appearance in Insomniac’s Marvel Universe.
