Just like that, Robert Pattinson seems to be the go-to-guy for iconic action heroes. If you weren’t keen on the Twilight actor playing Batman, perhaps you’d consider him for James Bond instead. If it were up to Danny Boyle, Pattinson would be the next 007.
Edward Cullen, Bruce Wayne, and Jame Bond. That would be quite an impressive CV.
In a recent interview with The Guardian, Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle, who very briefly worked on the franchise, suggested that Robert Pattinson would make a good Bond. Of course, he realised this while watching his performance in Claire Denis’ High Life. “It was so bizarre, because I was sitting there thinking: ‘Oh my God, they should get him to be the next Bond,’” Boyle commented.
At 33-years-old, Pattinson might be on the younger side to play the iconic spy. However, Boyle doesn’t think his age would be a factor. “No, no,” he mused. “He must be in his 30s. How old was Connery? He’s ready now.”
Whether or not Robert Pattinson gets a chance to play Bond is anybody’s guess. Still, it’s great to see that he is finally getting the recognition he deserves as a top tier actor.
