Since the release of Blizzard’s Overwatch, one character in specific has quickly become a fan favourite. D.Va, the Meka pilot who has become many players go-to character, has now finally received her own animated short.
Blizzard released a new animated short starring Overwatch‘s D.Va, whose real name is Hanna Song. She has become sort of a national star, thanks to her and her team’s success in fighting back the Omnics threat.
The animated short sees her working on her Meka while the rest of her team takes a well-deserved rest. Naturally, things go bad quickly as a new threat appears on the horizon and it’s up to Hanna to save the day without the help of her team.
It’s great that Blizzard is fleshing out their characters with these animated shorts and, while this one might not make you weep uncontrollably like some of the other shorts did, it’s still worth a watch. Plus, it reveals how Hanna discovered her ultimate, which is pretty cool.
Along with the animated short, Blizzard also revealed a new map for Overwatch – one based on South Korea, which is where Hanna is from. It’s a map that is surrounded by an ancient temple with beautiful gardens and ancient architecture as well as the bustling metropolis of Downtown. It’s a mixture of the old and the new, we’ll even get to visit MEKA Base where Hanna and her team is stationed.
We can’t wait to try out the new map as one of our favourite Overwatch characters, which is D.Va, of course.
