Converse And Don C Announce ERX Collaboration

Following the successful drop of the first collaboration between Converse and Don C in late 2018, the duo are back with their second collection in the form of five ERX silhouettes for the upcoming season. Fascinated by the ERX by means of his own personal memories of the silhouette, as well as his love of basketball, Don C continues to leverage the 80s archive’s cross-cultural, on and off court adoption, which has been remastered for the present.

The latest collection features two juxtaposing ideals in the form of the “Animal” and “Metal” colourways, yet they remain true to the spirit of ERX. The design was inspired by modern streetwear as well as Don C’s encyclopedic knowledge and love of basketball. Each of the silhouettes is constructed to bring streetwear to the fore. The shoes’ uppers and rubber cupsoles mirror the OG design from the 80s, it still features an updated EVA midsole of the modern sneaker.

The ERX “Animal” pack is a celebration of the innate rivalry between predator and prey, as viewed through the ERX 260 Mid silhouette. The print is featured in two distinct colourways of black and white, while accented with its wild animal prints. Each silhouette includes two two lace sets, embellishing the print on each sneaker’s heel overlay.

As for the ERX “Metal” pack, it offers three additional ERX 260 designs, in contrasting colour palettes, which are derived from the glam metal era of the 80s through punk rock and pop genres. The designs feature an array of various studs and inflexions to further elevate the design through modern streetwear. Each of the three silhouettes includes an oversized “CONS” logo print on the tongue, as well as lighting bolt graphics and multiple lace options.

The Converse ERX Animal VS Metal Packs is currently available in South Africa at Converse Stores. The silhouettes retail for R1,799,95. Converse And Don C‘s ERX Animal Pack will be also available at Shelflife, while the ERX Metal Pack at Jack Lemkus online.
