Converse South Africa hosted its very first fashion show last night, 15 August 2018, at Sally Mustang in Sandton, Johannesburg. The show kicked off the #ChucksFirst campaign, which will soon be spreading across the country in various forms, competitions and the likes.
On show were five up-and-coming local designers who each prepared outfits fit for the occasion with their “start from the bottom” interpretations. These designers included RI.CH Factory, Gulexy Creation, Dead.93, Prime Obsession, and Rich Mnisi. Celebs, media and fans turned out in the numbers to support the event at the retro stage with good food and drink on hand. Converse has formed the basis of many sneakerhead collections across the country, and has long been a tradition among designers, musicians, street performers and the likes. It also happens to be one of the longest-serving brands in the country. As part of the #ChucksFirst campaign, Converse is embarking on a journey with fans, and will engage them at malls, shows, and events across the country to live the brand, and stand a chance to win daily spot prizes. Stay tuned to fashion outlets and malls in your area.
