20th Century Fox took a huge gamble by allowing James Mangold’s Logan to be R-rated. However, it’s safe to say everything worked out in a great way. Logan has gone on to break box office records and is one of the highest grossing comic book movies ever. Now, early concept art from artist Christian Cordella has hit the Internet and shows the early development of the characters.
Generally, when it comes to concept art, the early drafts don’t make the final cut. However, it seems that a lot of Cordella’s early designs made their way into the final production.
Logan stars Hugh Jackman (Logan), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Dafne Keen (Laura Kinney/X-23), Doris Morgado (Maria), Stephen Merchant (Caliban), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Gabriela), and Richard E. Grant (Dr. Zander Rice). James Mangold is directing and helped on the screenplay along with Scott Frank and Michael Green.
