There are few things we at Fortress of Solitude love more than comics. Comics are an integral part of most geeks’ daily lives and, with Marvel and DC expanding their cinematic universes at an increasing pace, it’s never been a better time to be a fan of comics. FanCon 2018 brings together geeks, cosplayers and comic fans from all walks of life for two days of fun.
Established in 2016, FanCon is South Africa’s first dedicated comic convention. The convention was also the first to bring renowned comic book creators and cosplayers to the country. This month FanCon returns and promises to be even bigger and better than before.
The convention will run from the 28th to the 29th of April 2018 at the CTICC with doors opening from 10am-7pm on Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sunday. The exhibition space will be jam-packed with all the goodies your geeky heart can desire. From comics to pop culture related merchandise, there will be something for everyone. As can be expected, there will be loads of activities, panel talks, stage events and local and international guests. Basically, there will be more than enough to keep you entertained and informed throughout the two days.
Below is a list of some of the highlights expected at FanCon 2018.
