Most people remember Karate Kid as a story about a young man named Daniel who learned Karate in order to defend himself from bullies at school. Over the years, however, some fans have taken to social media to prove that Daniel wasn’t the victim but actually the real bully in the film. While many have dismissed this as just a theory, a new clip from the Karate Kid follow up series, Cobra Kai, proves that Daniel wasn’t such a nice guy after all.
In the clip below, we see an arrogant Daniel speak out against Johnny opening up his own Cobra Kai dojo. He then goes onto embarrass his old nemesis at a car dealership. Mr Miyagi wouldn’t approve.
The rivalry continues thirty years later with Ralph Macchio and William Zabka returning to Cobra Kai. And for the first time, I’d like to see Johnny beat down Daniel once and for all.
The series, set to bow in 2018 on YouTube Red, is set 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament and revolves around a down-and-out Johnny who, seeking redemption, reopens the infamous Cobra Kai dojo.
