Posted on YouTube, this deleted scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens shows Chewbacca ripping off Unkar Plutt’s arm.
For those who don’t remember, Unkar Plutt (Simon Pegg) was the alien on Jakku who offered meager food rations in exchange for ship parts collected by junkers. In the clip, we get to see his run in with Rey (Daisy Ridley) at Maz Kanata’s castle. Unkar traced Rey using the old Imperial tracking device on the Millennium Falcon. The situation escalates quickly and Chewie steps in to save the day. Violently.
The scene has been released with the 3D collector’s edition Blu-Ray. Although it’s not the first time audiences have heard of it. This scene was included in The Force Awakens novel and comic book, but was cut from the movie because it interrupted the flow. Some might argue that the scene was too violent for a Star Wars film, while others will be disappointed that it didn’t make the final cut.
Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is written and directed by Rian Johnson and continues the storylines introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, welcomes back cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis.
