Throwing his hat in the ring, Gotham’s Cameron Monaghan has taken to social media to express his interest in playing Carnage alongside Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock in Sony’s Venom.
Sony is fast-tracking the production of their Spider-Man spin-off universe, with the first film being Venom, which is scheduled for an October 5, 2018, release. That’s pretty close and, given that there hasn’t been much casting announcements yet, it seems a little unrealistic. However, nothing is impossible. Not even Cameron Monaghan’s dream to play the character in the upcoming film. It seems the Gotham star is a huge fan of the symbiote creature:

Carnage is a character that Marvel fans have wanted to see on the big screen for a very long time. The part requires a really strong performance, especially in light of the fact that Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock will be the calmer or less crazy one of the two.
For those who aren’t familiar, Carnage is a result of the symbiote bonding with serial killer Cletus Kasady (who goes to prison for murdering 11 people). After sharing a cell with Eddie Brock, the offspring of the symbiote bonds with Cletus and gives him remarkable abilities. Similar to Venom, the symbiote accents the extreme personality traits of those it bonds with and makes Carnage an even more horrific being.
#CameronforCarnage has begun circling around Twitter. If the studio wants someone closer to the age of Tom Holland, then Cameron Monaghan certainly fits the bill.
