Capcom has announced that Mega Man 11 will be releasing in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Mega Man 11 will be the first new side-scrolling Mega Man game to be released since 2010’s Mega Man 10. Capcom made the announcement during a live-stream celebrating the 30 year anniversary of the character.
Along with the reveal, Capcom also released a trailer showing off the new game’s visuals and gameplay. While the gameplay is similar to previous titles in the franchise, running, jumping and shooting, it does feature a new visual style. Not only are the new cell shaded art direction visually striking but it seems that Mega Man’s appearance will be affected by the power/weapon he is using.
Capcom also revealed during the live-stream that all eight of the Mega Man X games will be heading to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch. Some more good news for Switch owners is that the Mega Man Legacy Collection and Legacy Collection 2 will also be heading to Nintendo’s console and, as an added bonus, will include Amiibo support.
