Another year means another Call of Duty game. Right on time, Activision has announced the next game in the franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
Black Ops Cold War looks to be a very ambitious Call of Duty game. It will combine both a deep, Hollywood-style singleplayer campaign and the franchise’s signature multiplayer (including a new zombies mode).
The single-player campaign takes place smack dab in the middle of the Cold War conflict between the Soviet Union and the US. Players will be tasked with eliminating a Soviet spy who has infiltrated the US government.
The campaign will feature characters from the previous Black Ops game as well as historical figures, like Ronald Reagan.
Multiplayer will once again consist of a few familiar modes and will include cross-play across platforms and generations.
This sounds pretty ambitious and would mean that an Xbox One player could face off against an Xbox Series X one.
The multiplayer will of course also include a new Zombies mode, with the developer promising to reveal more at a later stage.
As with previous games in the franchise, there will be a seasonal battle pass available for those who are interested. The developer has promised a full multiplayer reveal, which is scheduled for the 9th of September.
