Blizzard Entertainment has made quite a few people (myself included) really happy by announcing StarCraft: Remastered.
Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that they will be releasing StarCraft: Remastered which will consist of, you guessed it, remastered versions of StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War. Gamers will be able to pit the Zerg, Terran, and Protoss against each other once again. The game will be remastered in 4K Ultra High Definition giving a welcome overhaul to the original game’s graphics. It will also include new additional illustrations for the campaign missions, the ability to connect to the Blizzard App, Cloud saves, and new matchmaking abilities, to name a few.
For those concerned that the remastering might affect the gameplay, Blizzard noted that although the game would be getting a fresh coat of paint they will be preserving the gameplay and balance of the original. CEO Mike Morhaime confirmed that Blizzard wants players to experience the same gameplay they fell in love with.
“We’re modernising the original game’s visuals, audio, and online support to ensure that players can enjoy StarCraft for another 20 years and beyond.”
