It seems that one of the most exciting games at Gamescom 2017 is a game you might not have heard of. Biomutant from developer Experiment 101 is a post apocalyptic RPG game set in a world unlike any other we’ve seen so far.
Biomutant will see player’s controlling an anthropomorphic raccoon like creature (who has a bionic pet cricket) on their journey to heal or destroy the Tree of Life. Not only will players be facing off against all manner of anthropomorphic creatures, but they will be doing it using the game’s kung-fu-inspired combat system. Players will also be able to augment their character’s abilities and appearance using powerful mutations, bionic prosthetics, and weapons.
To be honest, in an industry where a lot of games follow the same ideas and tropes, it’s refreshing to see something that immediately looks unique and creative. Not only is it a fantastic looking game but it has an intriguing premise and setting.
Currently, Biomutant is set to release in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Below is a video courtesy of IGN showcasing around 11 minutes of gameplay.
