The Watchmen actors and references continue to populate the DCEU with news that Billy Crudup, who played Dr. Manhattan for Zack Snyder in the 2009 Watchmen movie, will play the part of Henry Allen in the upcoming Flash movies.
Dr. Henry Allen is the father of Barry Allen in The Flash and is known now as being locked up for the murder of Barry’s mother when Barry was a child. An incident that leads Barry into becoming a forensic scientist for the Central City Police Department.
John Wesley Shipp, who played Flash in the 90s series and Henry Allen on the current Flash TV series, chimed in with support on Twitter: Inspired casting; can’t wait!

The Flash has a March 16, 2018 release directed by Rick Famuyiwa also starring Kiersey Clemons as Iris West and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
