The trailers for Avatar: The Way of Water welcome us back into the amazing world created in the first movie. It’s visually stunning and promises a deeper story.
What is Avatar: The Way of Water About?
“Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet.”
It’s easy to tell from the visuals that there will be a strong focus on 3D elements again in the sequel. That’s no surprise considering that 2009’s Avatar made 3D a big deal and practically saved the box office by luring audiences back to cinemas.
“At the centre of each of the four sequels will be the Sully family. Each story will be a stand-alone and each will come to its own conclusion,” Producer Jon Landau mentioned at a recent press event. “There will be a “fulfilling resolution to each film, but when looked at as a whole the journey across all four will create a larger epic saga.”
