While many might remember Assassin’s Creed Black Flag as the first game in the franchise to focus on naval combat, there was another game in the franchise that allowed you to set sail into the unknown. And now Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be heading to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a new coat of paint.
Now, to be honest, I didn’t play Assassin’s Creed Rogue when it was released back in 2014. As with many out there, I was too busy being enamoured by the pretty graphics of the latest generation of consoles to be bothered by a previous generation game. And if like me you missed out on a game many felt was one of the better games in the long-running franchise then I have some great news for you. Ubisoft has announced that a remastered version is being developed by the same team behind the original 2014 release and will not only sport some new shiny 4K visuals but will also include all of the DLC that was released for the game.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue features a new protagonist called Shay Patrick Cormac who, after being betrayed by members of the Assassins, decides to join up with their arch-rivals the Templars (gasp!). Many critics welcomed the twist of playing a protagonist that fought on the side of the Templars. For those who loved the naval combat in Black Flag and who haven’t had their fill of the franchise, Assissn’s Ceed Rogue could be worth checking out.
