Ubisoft has released a new moody cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Origins that features some familiar faces from ancient Egypt.
The latest Assassin’s Creed Origins trailer, set to Leonard Cohen’s brilliant “You want it darker”, sets up a much darker image of Egypt than we are used to. With familiar historical faces such as Cleopatra and Ptolemy making an appearance, the new Assassin’s Creed game will have its fair share of politics, intrigue and power struggles. Being able to wrestle Nile crocodiles and free run across the ancient pyramids seems like it could be loads of fun. However, judging from this trailer, players will also be partaking in their share of backstabbing.
In a recent interview, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillamot confirmed a deal with Microsoft to make the Xbox One X version of the game the best console version available. “We did a deal with Microsoft on Assassin’s Creed: Origins,” said Guillemot, “which is taking really good advantage of the power of the machine.”
