As is the case each year, the next Apple iPhone is always big news. While there have been many rumoured specs, renders, and the likes already doing the rounds, not of those have been credible, or even earth-shattering. That all changed with well-known industry leaker, Ben Geskin VenyaGeskin1, dropped his latest leak.
Previously, we’ve only seen speculative reports on the upcoming iPhone. One of those have been the rumour that Apple would be releasing three variants of the next iPhone, with a much larger screen than any of their previous smartphones. These rumours came in the form of claimed schematics, renders and the likes. Today, however, Geskin claims to have snapped up a photo of all three of the new glass panels for the 2018 range. As we know, the glass panels that cover the LCD panels are a good indicator of size, which is exactly the case here. The three rumoured models will come in sizes of 5.8″, 6.1″ and a much larger 6.5″ model.
While the verdict is still out, if the claimed image is real, it gives us a good indication of what’s to come later this year, possibly around September 2018. All glass panels resemble the iPhone X panel from 2017, indication of a similar design. One key element of the panels is also a sign of a lower-cost LCD model. There is a notable difference in the bezel of the middle panel, possibly an attempt to lower the cost of this device’s screen. The claim here is that the higher-end devices are expected to sell for around $800, while the lower cost model for around $550, a significant saving.
In addition to the panel shots, Geskin also includes his own render of the three devices and what they’d look like with the LCD panel in place.
