Anthem has had quite a rocky release. From bugs to even game breaking crashes, it hasn’t been an easy release for BioWare’s online loot-and-shooter. Now, it seems that Sony has begun refunding PS4 players who are experiencing some of the more severe problems associated with the game.
It’s no secret that some PS4 players have been experiencing serious system crashes while playing Anthem. It seems, at least according to multiple threads on the game’s official subreddit, that Sony has given some unhappy PS4 players refunds for Anthem after they reported their issues with the game.
Redditor u/SoundAndFury87 commented on how Sony was aware of the issues associated with the game and is willing to give refunds to those who are experiencing the system crashes.
Those that have reportedly received refunds did so by contacting Sony via its support chat. After providing some information, Sony refunded them for the game. Of course, the situation is reminiscent of the No Man’s Sky debacle, where gamers were refunded on both Steam and PS4 under the premise of false advertising.
It is important to note that others have not been so successful in requesting refunds from Sony. It’s no secret that the company has a very strict refund policy. Successfully receiving a refund for Anthem seems to depend mostly on the severity of the issues players are experiencing as well as who you speak to on the other side of the support chat.
