Marvel Studios has released the first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp, the twentieth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the sequel to Peyton Reed’s 2015 science fiction heist thriller. While Paul Rudd reprises his role as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man and teams up with Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne, aka The Wasp, the real hero everyone wants to see again is Michael Peña as Luis, world-renowned storyteller and Lang’s former cellmate.
Set after the events of Captain America: Civil War (the last time we saw the tiny superhero), Scott Lang tries to balance his home life as a father with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, when Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym present him with a new mission to bring to light secrets from their past, requiring him to team up with van Dyne as the new Wasp.
Ant-Man and the Wasp also stars Bobby Cannavale, Judy Greer, Tip “T.I.” Harris, David Dastmalchian, Hannah John-Kamen, Abby Ryder Fortson, Randall Park, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, and Michael Douglas.
“The events of Captain America: Civil War gave us something clear, which is: what was Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne’s reaction to Scott having taken this technology out into the world in Civil War?” said the film’s director Peyton Reed. “We had a lot of fun playing around with that. And we play with size and scale a lot. I love the idea of Giant-Man.”
