Anyone suffering from Marvel fatigue better get over it quickly. Despite the fact that Avengers: Infinity War has just hit theatres, the next Marvel movie is already on its way. Ant-Man and the Wasp is releasing in July. And, as the new trailer shows, there is a lot to be excited about.
It’s hard to tell where in the MCU timeline Ant-Man and the Wasp takes place. Is it before the events of Infinity War? Is it after? Unfortunately, the new trailer doesn’t give us many clues. What it does give us, however, is a lot of fun and outlandish action set pieces that look like they would top the fun sequences in the first film.
Paul Rudd is back as Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man, aka Giant-Man, and Evangeline Lilly gets joint-billing as Hope Pym, aka the Wasp. Together they’re an odd pair, who continue much of the same chemistry they did in the first film. The Giant-Man sequences are especially fun as we see Lang joke about his “65 feet”.
Thankfully, the creators were also smart enough to bring back Michael Peña as Lang’s storytelling criminal pal Luis. Joining the already amazing cast is Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, and Randall Park.
As Scott Lang balances being both a Super Hero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.
