It’s been a while since producer, James Wan announced the third Annabelle movie at last year’s Comic Con. But the good news for fans is that we finally have a release date and trailer!
The creepy doll comes home to cinemas on June 28th were we’ll finally find out what happened after Ed and Lorraine Warren took ownership of the doll (as seen in the opening sequence of The Conjuring in 2013). Annabelle Comes Home marks the directorial debut of Gary Dauberman, who wrote the screenplays for the previous Annabelle movies as well as 2018’s creepy hit, The Nun.
The story follows paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren as they attempt to keep possessed doll, Annabelle locked up in an artifacts room in their house. When the doll awakens the room’s evil spirits, it soon becomes a night of terror for the couple’s young daughter and her friends.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as real-life supernatural investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren. Mckenna Grace stars as their young daughter, Judy. Madison Iseman, Stephen Blackehart, Steve Coulter and Katie Sarife round out the rest of the cast.
The Annabelle Comes Home trailer opens with Ed explaining the need for the artifacts room. “Everything you see in here is either haunted or cursed or has been used in some kind of ritualistic practice. Nothing’s a toy,” he says. The scene cuts to the present day, with Judy telling her curious friend that “it’s not really good for anyone to go in there.”
As expected, she doesn’t listen…
