Prepare yourself to be gobsmacked. The new Alien: Covenant trailer sets out to turn doubters into believers. Featuring more Xenomorph action, it truly makes the next Alien film seem terrifying.
As the slogan reads, “The path to paradise begins in hell”. That’s exactly what this new trailer exemplifies: hell. At least it seems like hell in space for the unsuspecting crew of the Covenant.
The new trailer offers less Franco and more CGI Xenormorph action. It has multiple creatures, ominously-lit corridors, and new locations. That’s the good news. The bad news is that it looks like Danny McBride will survive most of it.
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
Directed by Ridley Scott, Alien: Covenant will hit theatres on May 19, 2017. It stars Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby.
