adidas Originals continues to build upon their archival heritage with the release of two distinctive silhouettes inspired by the classics. The team drops the SC Premiere, as well as the A.R. Trainer, both of which were seen around the streets at the Paris Fashion Week, as worn by David Beckham, Karlie Kloss and Jonah Hill.
The A.R. Trainer is a redesign of the original 80s training shoe, as a reimagining of the ASC Trainer model from 1988. The silhouette takes cues from the OG’s panelled construction and fluid lines from the era’s unique tennis aesthetic, with slight variations to appear more modern and fresh. The upper is constructed of premium leather, which is finished off with an 80’s style multi-purpose training sole unit. Keeping to the Originals trend, the trefoil logo branding is scattered throughout.
The SC Premiere variant draws its inspiration from similar roots in order to create a more fluid, modernized take on 40 years of the adidas court archive aesthetic. As with the A.R. Trainer, the SC Premiere features a premium leather upper, which is countered by a rubber midsole with the contrasting off-white outsole. The look is completed with a contrasting heel tab, while also incorporating the trefoil branding on the lateral side of the shoe.
The adidas Originals A.R. Trainer and SC Premiere is set to drop on 24 January 2019 at selected adidas Originals stores and online at adidas.co.za. The A.R. Trainer will retail for R1,599 and the SC Premiere for R2,299.
