Acer has partnered with The Nexus to introduce the public to an exclusive Experience Room. The Nexus is a community hub in Ferndale, Randburg, for avid gamers, board gamers and collectors. The office block houses big names such as AWX and Animeworx, and now an official Predator Experience Room.
The main highlight of the Predator Experience Room is no doubt the beast, otherwise known as the Acer Predator 21 X. Although there is no official launch date yet for the unit in South Africa, early estimates suggest a price tag around the R200,000 mark. That said, the unit features a 21″ display, two Nvidia GeForce GTX1080 in SLI, which offers 4K gaming and VR support. Additionally, the unit also comes with a host of inclusives, such as the Tobii eye tracker for added game experience. The unit will be available for a hands-on from today, 9th February, for just one week. Be sure to catch it while it’s still on show.
As for the other units, the Experience Room will be open for the next few months and is open to anyone from the public for a hands-on experience with some of Acer’s latest gaming gear, equipment and rigs. On showcase is the Predator 17 X, G6 Desktop, Z35 Monitor, and, as already mentioned, the Predator 21 X. “Being able to utilise The Nexus platform to introduce the Predator series to the public and all our gaming affiliates will contribute to our immersive product offering and the premium Acer experience,” says Paul Collins Acer Country Manager.
The Experience Room also extends to another room which showcases the brilliant Predator Z650 short throw projector, which we featured on Fortress of Solitude last year. You’ll get to experience some great racing with the simulation setup, alongside the Thrustmaster controls, and get a feel for the Z650’s audio and visual capabilities.
