It’s no secret that some video gamers are notoriously loyal to their preferred console brand. A recent study seems to suggest that fans of Sony’s PlayStation tend to be more loyal (or fanatic) that other console gamers.
With the PlayStation 4 dominating the console market space at the moment, it makes sense that a recent study conducted by BestSEOCOmpanies shows that PlayStation fans tend to be more brand loyal than their Microsoft and Nintendo counterparts.
The survey was conducted using over a thousand people (a comparatively small sample when you take into account how many console gamers there are out there) and surveying them on which brands they were most loyal too.
The brands with the most loyal fans included Good Old McDonald’s, Android, Nike and, of course, PlayStation. If you are wondering what the numbers look like, PlayStation was the front runner with 40.7% of the people surveyed being loyal to the brand, followed by Microsoft’s Xbox at 31.0% and Nintendo at 30.4%. The study split gaming PC’s and Laptops with gaming PC at 14.7% and laptops at 8.6%.
It’s no surprise that the new kid on the block, Google Stadia, didn’t make the cut as it has had what can only be described as a rocky launch. More interestingly, with the release of next-gen consoles around the corner, the study found that of the people who were surveyed, only 1 in 3 were considering buying a PlayStation 5 and 1 in 4 considering the Xbox Series X.
This loyalty to the Playstation brand probably stems from the exclusive games department. There’s little doubt that Sony has dominated this gen but many have suggested that the Xbox Series X might be the console that breaks Sony’s dominance of the console market.
