Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One S will be launching in selected regions on the 2nd of August 2016.
It was also confirmed by Microsoft that those who pre-ordered a Xbox One S from Microsoft’s store would be receiving it on launch day, although it has been hinted that availability might be limited.
Unfortunately those outside of the following countries will have to wait until later this year to get their hands on the slimmer sexier version of the Xbox One: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK and United States.
The Xbox One S is 40% smaller than the original, has it’s USB ports on the front, has a built-in power supply and supports 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray discs and 4K streaming (for those lucky enough to have a 4K TV).
I guess those of us outside of these territories will just have to wait a bit longer before getting one of these updated consoles.
