Ahead of a special New York Comic Con event, War for the Planet of the Apes is teasing the upcoming third installment in the reboot series with one very haunting image.
The video features Caesar’s final bit of dialogue from the previous film. In Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, we got to see Caesar become a powerful leader, as well as a husband and a father. In the final film we’ll see him become a legend. Director Matt Reeves has suggested that this film will continue to explore the trajectory of Caesar, who has now cemented his status as the bona fide Messiah figure among the empowered ape community. Danger is afoot, though, with Woody Harrelson toplining a new human threat as the malevolent Colonel.
Matt Reeves returns as the director. The cast includes Judy Greer as Cornelia, Woody Harrelson as Colonel, Andy Serkis as Caesar and Steve Zahn in an unknown role.
A digital billboard version of the poster can be seen in Times Square. War For The Planet Of The Apes takes up arms in theaters on July 14, 2017. I can’t wait!
