Walking Dead creator’s new comic being adapted for Cinemax

Written by

Good news! A new series from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman is heading to Cinemax, who has ordered a pilot script based off an upcoming graphic novel. Because the flesh-eating zombies of The Walking Dead weren’t frightening enough, Outcast is a horror drama that revolves around demonic possession.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, both the comic (which will debut in 2014) and the series on Cinemax will focus on a character named Kyle Barnes who has suffered from demonic possession since childhood. As an adult, he takes a spiritual journey to find answers and discovers a possibly apocalyptic secret.

He will serve as executive producer alongside David Alpert, also of The Walking Dead, while also heading two other projects. Kirkman is an executive producer of Spread the Dead, a Walking Dead spinoff, and the creator of Thief of Thieves, a comic-book series.
