Ubisoft has acquired the Guitar Hero Live and DJ Hero developer Freestyle games. The studio was previously owned by Activision.
The Developer, who is based in Leamington Spa, will now be known as Ubisoft Leamington. Ubisoft has confirmed that the team will be working closely with Ubisoft Reflections and other Ubisoft owned studios in developing AAA games. Managing Director Richard Blenkinsop has said in a statement that they are thrilled to have the team within the group and that the team at Reflections are looking forward to working together with them in creating new things. The terms of Ubisoft’s acquisition have not been disclosed. Whether and how this acquisition will affect Guitar Hero Live is yet to be revealed, but we are looking forward to seeing what the studio will be creating in the future.
