Could Kellan Lutz be the next He-Man in McG’s Masters of the Universe? He just might be.
It seems Twilight star Kellan Lutz has met with the studios to discuss He-Man. The actor, best known for his role as Emmett Cullen in The Twilight Saga, later took to Twitter and announced that the film is “in great hands”. In addition to his work on Twilight, Lutz starred as Hercules in 2014’s The Legend of Hercules and played Smilee in The Expendables 3.
The film’s director, McG, is responsible for films like Terminator Salvation and Charlie’s Angels. The Masters of the Universe movie has taken a while to get off the ground and has changed some hands over the years. The original 1987 film saw Dolph Lundgren in the role as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.
Masters of the Universe is a media franchise created by Mattel. The main premise revolves around the conflict between the heroic He-Man, aka Prince Adam, and the evil Skeletor on the planet Eternia, with a vast line-up of supporting characters in a hybrid setting of medieval sword and sorcery.
