DC’s popular kids show Teen Titans Go! is making the big jump from the small screen to the big screen with Teen Titans GO! To The Movies. And, minus the fart joke, it doesn’t look half bad. “If Aquaman can get a movie, anyone can,” the trailer’s tongue-in-cheek narrator cheekily announces.
When Robin introduces the movie, DC’s pint-sized superheroes all show up as Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. “Our movie’s not about Wonder Woman,” he reiterates. “It’s about us, the Teen Titans!” Unfortunately, the rest of the group disagrees.
It’s a little hard to explain its appeal, but Teen Titans Go! has become something special to DC fans. Cartoon Network has produced over 200 episodes thus far and its fandom shows no signs of slowing down. The voice cast includes Greg Cripes (Beast Boy), Tara Strong (Raven), Khary Payton (Cyborg), Scott Menville (Robin), and Hynden Walch (Starfire).
It’s also nice to see that the film will be a self-critical take on DC Films and all the criticism that have plagued the franchise.
