Those who were intrigued by the world of Krypton in Man of Steel will be glad to know that SyFy’s new series, Krypton, is based on that same world and is a direct prequel to the film.
The footage shows the first look at Superman’s grandfather, who began the legendary house of El.
David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man Of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice) serves as executive producer for the show. “Krypton is one of the most iconic stories in the comic book universe,” said Bill McGoldrick, Executive Vice President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “In the talented hands of David S. Goyer and the DC Entertainment/Warner Horizon Television team, this exciting Syfy project will take viewers back to Superman’s home to show how the timeless legend began.”
Syfy’s Krypton, the much-anticipated Superman prequel set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, will follow Superman’s grandfather — whose House of El was ostracised and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honour and save his beloved world from chaos.
