Support ISO

“If we do not support our artists, then we sacrifice our imagination on the altar of reality and we end up believing in nothing and having worthless dreams.” – Yann Martel

The members of ISO must feel like they’re stuck in some kind of surreal nightmare. This past weekend at Oppikoppi their trailer with gear worth R100 000 was stolen from the purportedly secure artist area. It seems unlikely that the trailer, never mind everything that was inside, will be recovered. I’m always on this pluck to support South African music and now is really the time to put my money where my mouth is. Their entire livelihood was snatched away in an instant and the loss they have suffered is incomparable. They have shown incredible fortitude and commensurate professionalism, powering forward and looking ahead despite their setback. We’re happy to fork out a few hundred bucks when international acts visit our shores, but now it’s time to show real solidarity and a bit of national pride too by supporting the band and helping them get back on their feet. There is so little support for artists in this country that sometimes all they can do is rely on their fans; but whether you’re a fan or not, we should stand behind our local artists. If you are able to help with any kind of contribution, please e-mail the band on [email protected]

Below is a list of the gear which was stolen along with their white Venter trailer (registration no. HPS 848 GP):

• all our guitar effects pedals
• Boss Compression
